MEMORANDUM FOR RECORD
FROM [Unit]
[Street]
[Air
Base] [State] [Zip]
SUBJECT: Letter of Recommendation for [First Last Name]
I recommend [First Name] for any position he
pursues, know without a doubt, he'll surpass
all expectations! As the commander of an Air Force Reserve Unit, my job can be
very
demanding, stressful, and frustrating. [First Name]
arrives early for our weekend duty,
ensuring all things are ready for the mass of personnel to arrive. He devotes
much time
and energy outside the ascribed weekend working special projects from written
awards and
personnel evaluations to woodworking ideas to improve the unit's morale and
appearance.
From the date I took command until now, [First Name]
gives his all to any project he either
is assigned or designs himself. His motivation is the betterment of the team,
never for
self promotion. He engages all for ideas and allows those who work under his
supervision
the freedom to put their plans into action. He listens, guides, and motivates
his
subordinates, peers, and superiors alike to reach for greater heights, never
satisfied
with current status.
I depend on [First Name] to get the mission of the
unit accomplished. His insight to
problems and suggested improvements are extremely helpful. His desire to improve
himself
and the unit drives him to impart his experiences with others to get all to the
same
level of achievement and then pushes them to always evaluate and raise the bar
of expected
results. As a statement of proof our unit received an Air Force Reserve
Command-level
award for 2004 among fierce competition due to his direct involvement, but also
mentoring
others to think in other ways than the "norm".
[First Name] will be a tremendous asset to any
organization - I'm very glad he's on my team!
The best advice I'd give his supervisor is to tell him what you want and the
direction he
should travel and then relax - it'll be handled in a professional manner, with
no stone
left unturned.
