MEMORANDUM FOR OFFICE OF ADMISSIONS
HQ USAFA/RRS
2304 CADET DRIVE, SUITE 200
USAF ACADEMY, CO 80840-5025
FROM: ### SQU/CC
SUBJECT: Letter of Recommendation (A1C FNAME LNAME)
It is my honor to recommend Airman First Class (A1C) Bryan LNAME for
matriculation into the United States Air Force Academy (USAFA). A1C LNAME has
been a motivated member of the### SQU, Kadena AB, Japan for 19 months and has
dutifully proven, himself, to be a valuable asset. He embodies the finest
qualities of leadership, internalizes the Air Force’s core values, and exudes an
infectious high morale. A1C LNAME’s professionalism and military bearing have
been recognized at his garrison and deployed units in the past year. He started
2007 at Al Udeid AB, Qatar as the 379 AEG/ESVS Airman of the Month for January,
the 379 AEG/ESVS Honor Guard Member of the Month for March, and was subsequently
“coined” by the SECAF. He finished the year with the same momentum earning the
## SQU 2007 Airman of the Year honors.
A1C LNAME is a relatively junior Air Force member, however, he has established
himself as a go-to-troop in ### SQU. As the Billeting office shift lead, A1C
LNAME leads four other employees; he manages all associated tasks on his shift,
a $900 change fund, and a 30-line item sundry inventory. His diligent efforts
and stalwart attitude have overwhelmingly contributed to the Shogun Inn’s
“OUTSTANDING” guest satisfaction rating. A1C LNAME’s strong work ethic and
intrinsic motivation are evidenced even further by the meticulous detail he puts
into his dress and appearance. Each of these attributes, coupled with integrity
and character, are unparalleled by any other airman in my squadron.
Just as the USAFA curriculum promotes the whole person concept, A1C LNAME is
equally committed to developing himself as a well rounded person. In addition to
setting the standard in his duty section, he participates in various facets of
squadron, base, and local community activities as a member of the Kadena AB
Honor Guard, a dormitory bay chief, and an 18th Services Squadron Enlisted
Counsel Treasurer. He is also currently earning his bachelors degree as a
part-time student in Embry Riddle Aeronautical University’s distance learning
program. He knows the meaning of sacrifice as he assumes the out of pocket
expense of the18th SVS Aero Club membership in pursuit of his dream of being a
pilot.
A1C LNAME is a mature, focused, driven, and goal oriented airman. USAFA is the
obvious next step toward his goals of becoming a career officer and an Air Force
pilot. A1C LNAME is the perfect example of the type of airmen the Air Force
needs to mentor toward this prestigious opportunity. That is why it is my
recommendation that strong consideration be given to A1C LNAME’s selection to
attend USAFA; as I have no doubt that his character, determination, and moral
courage will strengthen the long tradition of USAFA and, ultimately, the
foundation of our service as an Air Force Officer.
