The following Example has been taken out of a Word. If you have anything you would like to submit, please do so. If you have found this information useful, please let me know. Everyone of these letters has taken considerable amount of time to put together. Please treat yourself to something special from one of the ads on the page. We will both get something out of it. MEMORANDUM FOR <UNIT> Incoming Personnel
FROM: CCF
SUBJ: Welcome to the AOR
I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the AOR, and more specifically to the <UNIT>. I am looking forward to the chance to work with you and stand ready to answer any questions that you may have. I’m sure you will find this a unique and rewarding experience. As with anything you’ll get out of it what you put in to it.
Most of the people here wear more than one hat, and I am no exception. In addition to my primary job as First Sergeant, I act as the TMO representative, PERSCO representative, and dormitory manager. As you can see, I have my fingers in virtually all aspects of life in our squadron. Please don’t hesitate to point out problem areas or ways that I can improve the way we do business. I firmly believe in the quality approach and am constantly searching for ways to better quality of life.
As the commander stated, in his letter, customer service is our primary concern. If you have a complaint, a concern, or a problem please let me know. I can’t fix it if I don’t know it’s broken. I will do everything in my power to make sure that all you have to worry about is your job. My job is to remove as many of the distracters as possible so you can focus on your job.
I would urge you to ensure that your family knows the proper procedure to notify you in case of an emergency. All emergencies must be confirmed through the Red Cross or leave will not be granted. Inform your family that they should contact their local Red Cross, who will confirm the emergency, and then relay the message to me. This works much faster than me having to work it backwards.
If you are concerned that you’ve just been sent on the worst assignment you can imagine, I know you will be pleasantly surprised. If you have concerns or questions, please call your sponsor or me. My number is DSN 123-456-7890 day or night, as my office and my room are the same. Have a safe flight and I’ll see you when you get off the plane in sunny Saudi Arabia.
