Dear [Employer]:

As the Commander for the [unit], I thank you for your support of the members of the unit who work for your organization. Air Force Reserve units and personnel have been activated several times recently, for war, peacekeeping missions, nation building missions, and stateside relief operations.

The [unit] has been alerted for potential duty in support of ongoing Operations. Your employee or my designated representative will notify you if there are any changes in our schedule.

I am enclosing information on the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA). The USERRA outlines the rights and responsibilities of the employer, employee, and the military in cases of mobilization.

I fully understand that military duty commitments can cause hardships for private businesses and other employers. We are prepared to work with you to resolve such problems whenever possible. Feel free to contact Captain XXX, as potential scheduling conflicts arise. If you have any other questions about the North Carolina National Guard, or USERRA, you may contact the National Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (NCESGR), toll-free at 1-800-336-4590.

                                                                                                      Sincerely,

                                                                                                      [FIRST M.. LAST], [Rank], USAFR
