SUBJECT: Letter of Reprimand - For NOT Taking Action
1. At Volk Field, Wisconsin, on 18 December 01, you failed to obey a lawful general regulation,
to wit: AFI 36-2618, paragraph 4.1.15, dated 1 April 1999, by wrongfully failing to correct and
report the misconduct of SrA Joe Anyone. You knew or should have known SrA Anyone was
drunk on duty. You made comments to another airman in your unit that SrA Anyone’s speech
was slurred, his eyes were bloodshot and he smelled like alcohol. Yet, you failed to remove SrA
Anyone from his duty station or investigate further. In addition, you did not report SrA Anyone’s
conduct to your superiors.
2. You are hereby reprimanded. You have engaged in aberrant behavior which will not be
tolerated from a member of the United States Air Force. Your past behavior has raised serious
questions about your ability to remain in the United States Air Force. Conduct such as this will
not be tolerated, and any future breeches will result in more severe actions being taken. By
tolerating drunken behavior on duty by one of your subordinates, you set an unacceptable
leadership example to other airman in your unit. NCOs represent the Air Force to all with whom
they come in contact. Personal integrity, dedication and devotion to duty must remain above
reproach at all times. Further, as an Air Force leader, an NCO must uphold Air Force regulations
and take measures to ensure their subordinates uphold Air Force regulations.
3. PRIVACY ACT. AUTHORITY: 10 U.S.C. 8013. PURPOSE: To obtain any comments
or documents you desire to submit (on a voluntary basis) for consideration concerning this
action. ROUTINE USES: Provides you an opportunity to submit comments or documents for
consideration. If provided, the comments and documents you submit become a part of the action.
DISCLOSURE: Your written acknowledgment of receipt and signature is mandatory. Any
other comment or document you provide is voluntary.
4. You will acknowledge receipt and return this letter to me within 3 workdays of your receipt.
Your signature on this document is solely for receipt purposes and is not an admission of guilt.
Any comments or documents you wish to be considered concerning this LOR must be included
with your response.
