FROM: 4 XXX/CC
SUBJECT: Letter of Reprimand - DUI 1. Investigation has disclosed that you operated a motor vehicle while intoxicated on or about 06 Apr 03, in or near the city of Goldsboro, North Carolina. You subsequently plead guilty to the charges and received a fine, a jail sentence, and ordered to complete community service.
2. Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ), Article 111, Drunken or reckless operation of vehicle, aircraft or vessel states:
“Any person subject to this chapter who –
(1) operates or physically controls any vehicle, aircraft, or vessel in a reckless or wanton manner or while impaired by a substance described in section 912a(b) of this title (Article 112a(b)), or (2) operates or is in actual physical control of any vehicle, aircraft, or vessel while drunk or when the alcohol concentration in the person’s blood or breath is 0.10 grams of alcohol per 100 milliliters of blood or 0.10 grams of alcohol per 210 liters of breath, as shown by chemical analysis, shall be punished as a court-martial may direct.”
3. You are hereby reprimanded. You have engaged in aberrant behavior which will not be tolerated from a member of the United States Air Force. Your past behavior has raised serious questions about your ability to remain in the United States Air Force. Driving while intoxicated is a crime. It is also a dangerously stupid act. The Air Force cannot afford to lose personnel, it’s most valuable resource, because you choose to drink and drive. Although you caused no injuries, your behavior had injurious potential. I absolutely will not tolerate this deplorable behavior. If you ever drink and drive again, I will take the harshest action allowable against you.
